Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf Named North East Region Extended-Stay Sales Team of the Year

Property Wins Marriott’s Silver Award for Outstanding Guest Service

BOSTON, Mass., April 12, 2005 — Pyramid Hotel Group LLC (Pyramid), a Boston-based hotel development, management and ownership firm, today announced that the sales team of its Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf was named the Extended Stay Sales Team of the Year for the New England Region by Marriott Hotels.  In addition, the property received Marriott’s Silver Award for outstanding guest service.

“What makes these awards so meaningful is that the hotel was still in the start-up phase and the Boston hotel economy was depressed throughout 2004,” said Jim Dina, Pyramid’s chief operating officer.  “The Tudor Wharf sales team prides itself on being very active in the community and focused on fostering customer relationships and a back-to-basics sales approach to improve market share.  They achieved a more than 40 percent increase in revenues.”

The Extended Stay Sales Team of the Year Award is based on teamwork, proactive sales and creativity, internal sales, involvement in sales with other Marriott hotels and community service.  In 2004, the Tudor Wharf sales team participated in two charitable walks for local hospitals; spent a weekend assisting The Friends of the Charlestown Navy Yard with a community cleanup project; and participated in a fundraising event for the Charlestown Boys & Girls Club.

In addition, the hotel received Marriott’s annual Silver Award, which recognizes a property for its outstanding guest service.
